Voters in Lyon County are moving to get a road renamed after former US President Donald Trump. It is unsurprising because they supported him in the recent US Presidential Election.

Lyon County Commission members voted in favor of renaming Dayton’s Old Dayton Valley Road. For your information, Dayton is an unincorporated US community situated 23 miles south of the City of Reno.

Republican Commission Member Ken Gray recommended renaming a Nevada road for Donald Trump. Gray chose the road situated in Dayton for it, as no residents and only some government facilities have addresses there, which simplifies the change.

Jeff Page, Lyon County Manager, stated that a school, senior center and branch library are among the said facilities. As for Gray, the planned change need not be controversial, since governments tend to rename buildings and roads after community advocates and political leaders.

Gray regards Donald Trump as a fine leader, who supported the US military, law enforcement and the locals in the nation.

Donald Trump carried Lyon County by a good margin against Democratic Candidate Joe Biden in the US Presidential Race. Lyon County’s officials are drafting plans for the name change, which still depends on the Planning Commission’s approval.
