US Senate Candidate Laxalt Asked To Donate Funds Raised From Big Lie

There was a letter from NAPSO executive director Richard McCann, who recently retired, to the senatorial campaign of Adam Laxalt. The letter asked the campaign to donate its funding to the United States Capitol Police (USCP) Memorial Fund.

McCann read an Axio write-up that details how Laxalt has been raising funds with the wrong stolen election notion that drove the 2021 Capitol insurrection. The write-up inspired him to send that letter to Laxalt’s campaign. In it, he wrote that the wrong notion drove an attack at the Capitol that contributed to the death of and injury to law enforcement personnel.

In a recent fundraising email, Laxalt’s campaign claims that the Democratic Party and its media allies attack Laxalt for demanding attention to Nevada’s election integrity problems.

Laxalt encourages supporters to contribute money to his senatorial campaign to deal with the Democratic Party-related political machine.

That email also said that Democratic Party members are scared of a fair election for the following reasons.

  • The members realize that several Nevadans are prepared to switch their loyalties from their party to the Republican Party this year.
  • They also realize that they cannot win the election if they do not radically gain control of laws related to election elements like loose ballots, a virtual lack of signature verification, and unclean rolls.

McCann also said that he got appalled and irritated due to a complete abandonment of facts from Laxalt. As for McCann, Laxalt has kept peddling the false notion that the recent presidential election was manipulated. According to McCann, while it got debunked at all levels throughout the nation, Laxalt has taken the notion further in a bid to exploit it.

The campaign of Laxalt is yet to comment on this political story, which does not surprise McCann one bit. The campaign has repeatedly declined to talk to the Las Vegas Sun.

As for McCann, Laxalt does not wish to converse about this but rather wishes to play a part in a popular idea.

McCann has concerns about any electoral campaign in the US that would raise money with the false notion and would ignore the insurrection on January 06, 2021, at the US Capitol building.

McCann noticed the effects of the events on his friend who worked as a cop at the Capitol that day. McCann requested people to avoid ignoring the facts about America’s law enforcement personnel. Describing them as hard-working officers, McCann said that he sees what they undergo and that law enforcement work is challenging.

In his recent letter, McCann demanded that Laxalt donate the proceeds from the campaign-related solicitations to USCP, which supports the relatives of the personnel who died when at work.

McCann described the act of repeating the lies while using those to finance one’s political campaign, as a case of leadership failure. McCann also stated that the relatives and law enforcement in Nevada deserve better.

FEC (Federal Election Commission) permits campaigns to do charitable donations provided that the candidate in question does not get compensation from that organization. However, it does not allow using the donated amount for any purposes that benefit that candidate at a personal level.
